If you haven't seen Delirious starring Steve Buscemi you should definitely watch. It's directed by Tom DiCillo the director of Living in Oblivion (also starring Steve Buscemi). I think Tom DiCillo is just continuing to explore the 'celebrity culture' theme. He does it beautifully in Delirious -- depicting the fact that everyone is connected to the food chain.
One thing I liked about the movie is the underlying theme of friendship -- weird and quirky. People bond almost in an instant and loose friends just as easily. In the nether world of celebrities the right time in the right place counts just like Toby (played by Michael Pitt) learns. One wrong move and you're gone. Such is the ups and downs of celebrity friendships portrayed in a satirical movie.
Here's the trailer that you can check out:
You can also read the NY Times Review.
Go watch it, preferably with a friend. And if have seen it, let me know what you make of it.

Loved the movie ... decided to see it after I read your post! Is really great!
It reminds me of myself when I had all these famous singers as friends. :)
I loved the movie... I enjoyed it before a good night sleep (not in my closet)... I loved the guy that played in mr. deeds too... He's so funny.
